USRF Auctions Australian Jersey Signed by Greats Nick Farr-Jones and John Eales

San Diego, CA (June 9, 2008) – Just in time for this year’s Tri Nations tournament, the USRF is auctioning off an Australian Wallaby jersey signed by two of the game’s all-time greats and Rugby World Cup winning captains, Nick Farr-Jones and John Eales. Own a part of rugby history and assist the USRF in the process by being the high bidder on this wonderful rugby keepsake, donated to the USRF by John Eales himself.Nick Farr-Jones captained the Wallabies at the second Rugby World Cup in Europe in 1991. Australia had a couple of close calls throughout the tournament but with their star-studded team had enough to defeat England in the final and capture its first world title.One of the young studs on the 1991 RWC winning Wallaby side was second rower John Eales. Eales went on to become one of the sport’s greatest players and ambassadors. Other jerseys auctioned by the USRF include jerseys worn by the USA’s Todd Clever; England’s Dean Richards and Rob Andrew; Wales’ Paul Moriarty; France’s Eric Champ; Ireland’s Noel Mannion; Canada’s Glenn Ennis; Australia’s Tim Gavin; Scotland’s Stuart Reid; Italy’s Gianni Zanon; Japan’s Michihito Chida; Romania’s Hary Dumitras; the Barbarians’ Scott Gibbs; Canada’s Scott Stewart, and a commemorative jersey signed by the All Blacks and British Lions and another signed by the victorious Rugby World Cup captains. All proceeds from the auctions benefit the USRF Ball and High School Start-Up Kit Grant Programs.The USRF is a non-profit 501 (c) 3 organization established in 1963.
