US RUGBY FOUNDATION BALL GRANT RECIPIENT SPOTLIGHT – SHORELINE SPARTANS YOUTH RUGBY CLUB

Spartan Youth Rugby started in 2016 as a flag program with 7 children in Clinton, Connecticut. In the last three years we have grown the flag program from that to roughly 40 youth players. The youth rugby program plays in the Spring, Summer and Fall against other area teams. Our high school program, started in 2019, has roughly 25 players in the program and plays in the Spring season in CT. Our high school program has a beach rugby program in the summer.

We have over 40 youth players from k-8 and 25 high school players in our program. The balls will allow us the ability to properly teach our players fundamentals such as passing, kicking, and general ball handling, during practice.

Over the years, the USRF has supplied thousands of size four and five balls to over 1,400 youth and high school rugby teams, schools and community programs.
