Follow the USA Across Australia: The US Rugby Foundation Travel Program for Rugby World Cup 2027

October 6, 2026

The Men's Rugby World Cup returns in 2027, held across Australia for the first time. The US Rugby Foundation is offering supporters an official travel program built around the USA's three pool matches, with a full itinerary that moves through four Australian cities over 15 days. A portion of every package booked through the Foundation supports USRF's work growing youth rugby in the United States.

Here is the program in full: the match schedule, what each city offers, the day-by-day plan, what the package covers, pricing, entry requirements, and how to join.

City by city

Melbourne, October 1 to 4. The group arrives in Melbourne on October 1 after departing the USA on September 29. Melbourne is consistently ranked among the world's most liveable cities, known for its restaurants, laneway cafes, galleries, and parklands along the Yarra River. Stay is three nights at Hotel Indigo Melbourne on Flinders with full breakfast daily, in the city centre inside the free tram zone. USA vs France is on October 2, and October 3 is open to explore. Private transfers on arrival and departure.

Sydney, October 4 to 7. From Melbourne the group flies to Sydney, with an arrival city tour on the way to the hotel. Stay is three nights at PARKROYAL Darling Harbour with full breakfast and porterage. Touring includes a guided climb to the summit of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, 134 metres above the harbour, and a full day in the Blue Mountains with Sydney Zoo and a Scenic World Ultimate Discovery Pass, lunch included. There is no USA match in Sydney; this leg is touring only.

Perth, October 7 to 11. The group flies west to Perth, a sunny, relaxed city on the Swan River with more than 80 kilometres of beaches within easy reach. Stay is four nights at the InterContinental Perth City Centre with full breakfast daily, in the King Street precinct. USA vs Samoa is on October 9. A full day Rottnest Island trip includes a ferry crossing, a guided island bus tour, and lunch. October 8 is open to explore.

Adelaide, October 11 to 16. The final city is Adelaide, the wine and festival capital of Australia, with a compact, walkable centre surrounded by parklands. Stay is five nights at Hotel Indigo Adelaide Markets with full breakfast and porterage, next to the Central Markets. A full day tour visits McLaren Vale wine country with a winery visit and tasting. USA vs Japan is on October 15, with October 13 and 14 open to explore. Private transfer to the airport on October 16 for the flight home or onward.

The land package is $7,999 per person, based on two people sharing a room and a full group of 50 travelers. If the group size drops, the per person price is recalculated. How booking works

  1. Review the itinerary. Confirm the plan fits your interests, dates, and budget.
  2. Refine it. Touring and dates can be adjusted before you confirm.
  3. Deposit and flights. A non-refundable deposit and a copy of each traveler's passport confirm the booking. Flights are added once airfare opens.
  4. Confirmed itinerary. You receive a confirmed itinerary and invoice, and can pay in full to lock the price or pay the balance by the deadline.
  5. Travel documents. Two to three weeks before departure, you receive final documents, including local support contacts and your ETA confirmation.

Supporting US Rugby

A portion of every package booked through the US Rugby Foundation supports grassroots programs, college scholarships, coach and referee development, and health and safety for rugby across the United States. Following the USA at a World Cup and giving back to the game at home happen in the same booking.
