Key, a 5'5", 160 lbinside center known on the pitch as a "crashing center" for her combination of speed and physicality, has been playing rugby since age 12. With the Charlotte Cardinals, she won a U12 state championship and started at the U19 Nationals at just 13 years old, finishing fourth. She was elected team captain this year, in only her second year of high school. Beyond the Cardinals, Key has represented Panther Rugby Academy, winning back-to-back Tropical 7s titles at U14 and U16 Elite, and the Eagle Impact Rugby Academy (EIRA), including a 2025 tour of Ireland with a return trip planned for 2026. She is a member of the USA Rugby Pathways squad and was recently selected for the National U18 Summer Camp. She has attended coaching clinics at Princeton, Queens, Haka, and USA Rugby, and has trained under 7s Olympic bronze medalist Naya Tapper.

"London is an inside center with an exceptional combination of athleticism and tactical intelligence. She processes the game quickly, makes sound decisions under pressure, and consistently finds space that players her age do not yet see... Among all the players I have coached at her age and level, she is as complete a player as I have worked with. She is ready for Hartpury, and I believe Hartpury will be the making of her." -Dean Kelsey, Head Coach, Charlotte Cardinals

A Family Connection Across the Atlantic

Key's father is English, and the scholarship carries a personal thread that predates her own rugby career. Her great uncle, Peter Corn, now 91, lived on the Hartpury estate as a child in the 1940s, when his father managed the property before it became a college. "One of the things I want most if I get this scholarship is to walk the grounds with him, to see what he sees when he looks at that land, and to understand the history," Key wrote in her application.

"Her Rugby acumen is very high and her potential even higher... She has constant intensity and go-forward in both attack and defense and does not take time off on the pitch. London is not just a Rugby player but a wonderful young woman and a great teammate." -Joseph R. Boone, President & Coach, Panther Rugby Academy
