US Rugby Foundation Announces 2025 Collegiate Alumni Jumpstart Grant Program Recipients

October 16, 2025

The U.S. Rugby Foundation, in partnership with Madak, is proud to announce the five recipients of the 2025 Collegiate Alumni Jumpstart Grant Program — a first-of-its-kind initiative designed to empower collegiate rugby leaders with the strategy, structure, and support needed to build thriving programs and engaged alumni communities.

The Collegiate Alumni Jumpstart Grant helps collegiate programs overcome some of the biggest challenges in the sport today — scattered alumni networks, unpredictable fundraising, and limited organizational infrastructure. Rather than simply offering financial assistance, this grant equips recipients with the tools, mentorship, and strategic guidance to create lasting systems of support for their players and clubs.

This year, the Foundation received 30 applications from across the country, each reflecting the deep commitment of rugby leaders working to strengthen their programs for the long term. After careful review, five standout organizations were selected.

“If you lead a collegiate rugby program and dream of long-term success, stronger alumni connections, and a legacy that lasts — this grant was designed for you,” said David Bruck, US Rugby Foundation Director. “Each of this year’s recipients is a perfect example of that mission in action.”

“The Collegiate Jumpstart Grant isn’t just about helping rugby programs today—it’s about setting them up for success for the next decade,” said Adam Lejeunekopp, Madak CEO. “Through our partnership with the Foundation, we’re helping leaders unlock the full potential of their alumni networks and build systems that last.”

2025 Collegiate Jumpstart Applicants

Thank you to the 30 applicants who applied for this grant! We’re encouraged by the strong interest in advancing the collegiate game and inspired by the dedication of alumni groups nationwide. In total, 30 submissions were received from 20 different states, an incredible showing of support for growing rugby at the collegiate level. Notably, a third of the organizations support both men’s and women’s programs, reflecting the expanding inclusivity and reach of collegiate rugby across the country.

This year’s applicants represent a nationwide movement of rugby leaders determined to build stronger programs, engage alumni, and leave a lasting legacy. The U.S. Rugby Foundation and Madak congratulate the 2025 Collegiate Jumpstart Grant recipients and extend sincere appreciation to every program that applied.
