Another Successful Scrumble in the Books
San Diego, CA (February 10, 2013) – The 6th Annual USRFF Scrumble Golf Tournament took place on Friday, February 8, 2013 at the Las Vegas National Golf Club and although it was a bit windy and cold for the 8:30 am shotgun start, a good time was had by all. The 60 players taking part in this year’s Scrumble all had a shot at winning a trip to Bermuda through the Ace Your Way to Bermuda contest sponsored by Gosling’s. While nobody made a hole in one, all enjoyed the Gosling’s tent and the Dark ‘N Stormies at the Par 3 11th hole.Following the round of golf, players enjoyed lunch at the clubhouse and took part in the world famous Scrumble raffle which featured unique prizes that ranged from autographed rugby memorabilia, to TaylorMade golf clubs to autographed major league baseballs.The winning foursome of Brandon Taylor, Dan Shaw, Pat Casinelli and Steve Prelock (pictured above, left to right) is the only group that has participated in all six Scrumbles. Their adjusted winning score of 56 entitles them to bragging rights for a year, and each player received a Gosling’s golf bag and a dozen TaylorMade balls.The group of Greg Olsen and past U.S. Eagles John Mickel and John Jelaco finished in second place at 58 while the foursome of Koos Swart, Rory Smith and past Eagles Kevin Swiryn and Jim Dierker finished third with a score of 59.The USRF would like to thank all those who participated and also the USA Sevens, Las Vegas Blackjacks,Gosling’s, Building Infrastructure Group, TaylorMade, and Southern Wine and Spirits for their support of the 6th Annual USRFF Scrumble Golf Tournament.
