2021 NZ Crusaders Virtual Coaching Course

April 8, 2021

The New Zealand Crusaders Virtual Coaching Course through their Academy is developing an incredible opportunity for coaches in the Pacific Northwest. US Rugby Foundation has sponsored 6 coaches from youth to adult to participate in the coaching course. This will provide synergy between all levels within one geographic union, more specifically, Western Washington. All levels of Rugby in Western Washington will be represented in the coaching community: Youth, Collegiate, and Club for both Men and Women.

Pate Tuilevuka – Seattle Rugby Club – Men’s Director of Rugby

Liz Kirk – Seattle Rugby Club – Women’s Director of Rugby

Lauren Barber – Rugby Washington – Vice Chair

Steve Brennan – Washington Loggers – Development Pathway

Will Wheaton – University of Washington Men’s Rugby – Director of Rugby

Paul Horne – Western Washington University Men’s Rugby – Director of Rugby

There will be 17 different presenters – All presenters are involved or have been involved with the Crusaders, plus the current All Black Assistant Coach will be present. Some presenters speaking will be:

Scott Hansen – Crusader Attack Coach (also Japan Assistant coach)

Jason Ryan – Crusader Set Piece Coach (also Fiji Assistant coach)

Scott “Razor” Robertson – Crusaders Head Coach

USRF is excited to support such an opportunity for these coaches and believes it’s very important to have representatives from all levels of the game to make the most of the development of the sport in the union.
