Jake Broselle revels in rugby’s unique culture and is grateful for the game’s larger influence in his life. “This culture that came with rugby is one of the big reasons I fell in love with playing it. This culture also taught me such great sportsmanship on the field, along with kindness off the field. Rugby has always been there for me as not only a sport, but also a culture that I can look to for guidance,” said Broselle. His rugby career spans over 13 years and is chalk full of numerous honors. Broselle was a member of the Chuckanut Bay Rugby Club and played for the Washington Loggers State Representative Side. He was selected for the Eagle Impact Rugby Academy 2018 U16 Ireland Tour and subsequently attended and participated in Winter Camp that same year.

Broselle was amongst the best in the nation, playing for the High School All-American 7s team and representing the USA in New Zealand and Toronto. “What I admire most about Jake is his character. He’s a modest, disciplined young man, open to learning, blends well with teammates, and is genuine, treating everyone with respect,” said Salty Thompson, Eagle Impact Rugby Academy Director. Broselle graduated from Washington State High School with a 3.9 grade point average. He volunteered numerous hours of service for local community projects, such as street cleaning and building a children’s park. He was a four-year member of the Washington State High School varsity football and wrestling teams.

Jake also participated in baseball and track and field. He will continue his athletic and academic career at the University of Arizona, where he will major in biology and intends on becoming a dentist. He looks forward to working hard toward earning a starting spot for the Wildcats and dreams of one day stepping on the pitch alongside his older brother, Ben, for the United States Eagles. “

Jake Broselle has been, in a word, fantastic this fall for us. Jake is diligently handling the academic workload, while excelling in our training program both on the field and in the weight room. He’s also been a fantastic teammate, helping his new teammates together while meshing well with the upperclassmen, “said Sean Duffy, University of Arizona Director of Rugby.
