The Houston SaberCats have selected King Matu Jr. from Saint Mary’s College with the 16th overall pick in the 2025 Major League Rugby Draft! A 2019 Higgins Scholarship recipient, King shared with us earlier this year that his goal was to declare for the 2025 draft and compete in the 2026 MLR season. Recently, that dream has become a reality.
