Youth Rugby Initiative
YRI helps physical education teachers incorporate flag rugby into their school programs to promote aerobic fitness and to teach teamwork and ball handling skills to students.

College Scholarships

The Match Day Tent Grant Program supplies co-branded 10’ x 10’ pop-up tents to youth and high school clubs nationwide. By offering essential equipment, we contribute to the growth of the game from grassroots levels.

A Ball 4 All
A Ball 4 All Program supplies rugby balls to organizations, ensuring proper equipment for America’s youth. By supporting youth and high school rugby teams, physical education curriculums, and community programs, we foster an early love for the sport.
Awarded Grants

The Youth Rugby Initiative (YRI) brings flag rugby into elementary and middle school physical education programs across the United States, equipping PE teachers with curriculum, coaching support, and subsidized equipment kits to introduce the sport at no cost. Since launching in 2024, YRI has reached more than 250,000 students across 1,000 schools nationwide, working toward a goal of 1 million active youth by 2031 to fuel the next generation of American rugby players.

The U.S. Rugby Foundation's Youth Rugby Initiative sponsored a field trip for middle school and junior high students to the HSBC 7s Rugby World Championship on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, CA. The initiative offered students and teachers involved in their flag rugby program the chance to see 32 of the best national teams in Olympic Rugby compete at the highest level. The USRF covered all transportation costs through donor funds, with free event tickets generously provided by AEG Rugby.

The US Rugby Foundation has agreed to provide Rugby Washington with a $10,000 dollar grant over ten months. This grant with spread through the 2023 and 2024 seasons and aims at funding a variety of support services to Rugby Washington.
