Megan Zweber

"Most kids never discover what Megan Zweber Lamke found playing rugby in a middle school gym class: permission to be fully themselves. Brave, bossy, beautiful, and brilliantly creative.

After that gym class, Megan became a scrum half for Wayzata Girls Rugby Club, she played college and international rugby, and earned her spot in the Women's Premier League (WPL) with the Valkyries then the Twin Cities Amazons.

But here's what matters: rugby didn't just change Megan’s life. It showed her what was possible.

Now, as a US Rugby Foundation Central Regional Ambassador, Megan is building inclusive spaces where every child ages 3 to 18, regardless of ability or background, can discover the same permission to be fully themselves with the help of rugby.  Where they belong. Where they matter. Where they learn to show up as their authentic self.

Professionally, Megan is a Certified AI Architect, commercial real estate investor, and 4th generation early childhood educator. Megan enjoys traveling for fun, playing board games with her husband Darik, and driving her daughter to all of her athletic events and activities. Think cool rugby mom mini van vibes with all the healthy snacks. 

When Megan’s not on the pitch coaching at Hopkins Rugby Club,  she serves on rugby boards like Youth Rugby Initiative and Minnesota Youth Rugby (SRO), ensuring children with special needs and abilities (like her daughter Lyra) have a place in rugby everywhere, especially in Minnesota. Because advocacy, belonging, and inclusion, in rugby create compassion are communities and amazing humans who can change everything for good. “
