Growing up in Pittsfield Massachusetts, Flanagan dove into his favorite sports through recreational leagues. Moving from California and then back to Massachusetts, Flanagan ended up being exposed to the sport of Rugby during a walk through the “officer’s country” on the ship Flanagan was stationed at.
