Blaine Scully

Starting his playing career in California, Blaine Scully began playing for the USA 7s team while attending the University of California, Berkeley. As a Cal Bear, Blaine was part of two national championship teams and was selected as a Collegiate All-American four times. After graduating, he was selected for the 2011 Rugby World Cup and subsequently represented the United States in the 2015 and 2019 Rugby World Cups. Blaine captained the national team in 23 matches, including the 2019 RWC. He concluded his career with 54 caps, tied for 7th all-time.

Professionally, Blaine played overseas in the UK in both the Premiership (Leicester Tigers) and Pro14 (Cardiff Blues), winning the 2018 European Challenge Cup with the Blues. While playing, Blaine served as a member of the International Rugby Players Global Council while also co-founding the US Rugby Players Association.

Blaine has recently retired from a distinguished professional and international rugby career. Since leaving the game in March 2020, Blaine has done broadcast analyst work with NBC Sports while also consulting/advising for various sport-technology-related companies.

Blaine is also currently pursuing his Executive MBA from Sïad Business School at Oxford University.
