12 Year Old Sam Masterson's
Drop Kick Challenge Voted Best Video Entry
Sam's blindfolded drop kick entry
received a whopping 117,000 votes.
San Diego, CA (December 19, 2014) - Through its partnership with TrainerDoc, the makers of the Perfect Kick Trainer, the U.S. Rugby Foundation recently conducted its first ever Drop Kick Challenge, asking teams to submit videos of their players attempting 10 drop goals in a minute's time. And you, the rugby public, voted for the video entry that you thought was the best.
And the winning entry was of 12 year old Sam Masterson from the Heartland Youth Rugby program in Kansas City, MO, who garnered over 117,000 votes. We asked participants to think outside the box and that's what Sam did as he finished off his series of kicks with a blindfolded effort that swayed the rugby public.
For being the top vote getter, Sam's club will receive 20 U.S. Rugby Foundation A Ball 4 All balls and two Perfect Kick Trainers and Kick Trainer balls. In addition, Sam will receive a U.S.A. Rugby jersey autographed by many of today's USA 7s stars who live and train at the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, CA.
The U.S. Rugby Foundation would like to thank and congratulate those youth and high school rugby players that took part in the first ever Drop Kick Challenge, knowing that their drop goal attempts would be viewed by those in the rugby public. Each of their rugby programs will also receive two Perfect Kick Trainers and balls.
