United States Rugby Foundation
Awards 15 Coaching Grants

San Diego, CA (July 12, 2005) - The United States Rugby Foundation announced its latest recipients of 2005 Coaching Grants. The USRF designed a program in 1996 that encouraged high school and youth coaches to complete coaching clinics sanctioned by USA Rugby. The number of coaches who've taken advantage of a Coaching Grant has increased over the years and since its inception, this program has distributed nearly $30,000 in grants to almost 300 coaches.

"The Coaching Grants are just one more way we are helping those who are growing the game in the United States," said USRF Executive Director, Brian Vizard. "The recipients' participation and completion of the various Coaching Accreditation programs is testimony to their continued commitment to the sport of rugby and we are glad we could be of assistance."

The recent recipients include:
Cary Dickens - Level I Coaching Accreditation Program
Anthony Wheeler - Level I Coaching Accreditation Program
Adam Bittler - Level I Coaching Accreditation Program
Jeffrey Lowe - Level I Coaching Accreditation Program
Steve Cichy - Level II Coaching Accreditation Program
Robert Jenkinson II - Level I Coaching Accreditation Program
Christine Barber - Level I Coaching Accreditation Program
Ryan Gramlich - Level I Coaching Accreditation Program
Jacob Sherman - Level I Coaching Accreditation Program
Paul Barker - Level I Coaching Accreditation Program
Pam Heimann - Level I Coaching Accreditation Program
Jim Hulbert - Level I Coaching Accreditation Program
David Mosella - Level I Coaching Accreditation Program
Peter Walton - Level II Coaching Accreditation Program
Andrew Sabo - Level I Coaching Accreditation Program

The USRF hopes to issue additional Coaching Grants towards the end of the year.

The USRF is a non-profit 501(c) 3 organization established in 1963. Although its main focus is supporting youth and high school rugby, the Foundation also provides grants to coaches and referees; establishes international student exchanges and college scholarships, has assisted the United States Collegiate All-Americans and Boys Under-19 teams, and also provides grants to Safety and Risk Management Research.
