Signed Barbarians Jersey Up for Auction for the A Ball 4 All Program

San Diego, CA (January 11, 2012) - Own a piece of rugby history while supporting youth and high school rugby in the U.S.  by putting in the high bid for a team signed Barbarians jersey from their November 26, 2011 match against Australia at Twickenham.

Donated to the US Rugby Foundation by Alan Evans, Honorary Secretary of the Barbarian Football Club, this very unique piece of rugby memorabilia is a must have for the passionate rugby fan.

The Barbarian squad that faced Australia included some familiar names: Springboks Victor Matfield and Bryan Habana; New Zealanders Keven Mealamu, Jerome Kaino, Adam Thompson and Richard Kahui; Englishman Simon Shaw; Australian Stirling Mortlock; Frenchman Sylvian Marconnet and Irishman Peter Stringer. In addition, the jersey includes the signature of 2011 Rugby World Cup winning All Blacks coach and Barbarians coach for the match against Australia, and recently knighted, Sir Graham Henry.

"The Rugby Foundation thanks all of the Barbarian players and the entire organization for their continued support," said USRF Executive Director Brian Vizard.

Not only will the high bidder of this Barbarians jersey receive a rugby memory that will last a lifetime but he or she will have the satisfaction of knowing that every cent from their winning bid will go towards the US Rugby Foundation's A Ball 4 All program. The goal of the A Ball 4 All program is to provide 50,000 youth and high school players in the US with their very own rugby ball in 2012.

Photos of the signed jersey and a photo of the Barbarians team, and more information about each of the Barbarians players can be found on eBay, item #180793066078. The bidding will conclude at 9:00 a.m. (PST) on Wednesday, January 18, 2012.
