Trustees and Directors

The United States Rugby Foundation is governed by a group of Trustees and Directors from around the country who volunteer their time, travel at their own expense to participate in Foundation business, and make annual contributions to support the programs of the Foundation.

The Foundation Trustees are John Decker (Santa Fe), Bill Fraumann (Chicago), Dan Wack (Bay Area), Bob Erwin (Houston), Brad Andrews (Orlando), John Jelaco (Los Angeles), and Bob Watkins (San Diego).

The 33 Foundation Directors are Michael Bolan (Chicago), John Carr (Atlanta), Dr. Ned Chambers (San Diego), Dr. John Chase (Oakland), Keith Engelbrecht (Dallas),  Terry Fleener (Colorado), Don Haider (Chicago), Matt Godek (Alexandria, VA), Kevin Kitto (Florida),  Dr. Lyle Micheli (Boston), Fred Paoli (Denver), Jim Perkins (San Diego), Tom Selfridge (Schenectady, NY), Dick Smith (Seattle), Denis Shanagher (San Francisco), Alex von Lichtenberg (Boston), Phil Bryant (Indiana), Don James, Jr. (San Francisco), Spencer Chase (Denver), Don Becker (Madison), John Price (Denver), Jim Collins (San Francisco), Dick Stevens (Washington), Ed Burlingham (Los Angeles), Jay Waldron (Portland, OR), Ed Hagerty (New York), David Hovey (Chicago), David Yancey (San Jose), Kate Silvey (Boston), Ray Green (San Diego), Jay Hanson (Sacramento), Mike Mahre (Denver), Bob Kaplan (Sun Valley) and David Bruck (Seattle).

In its goal for a global reach, the Foundation has also enlisted the assistance of International Directors Murray Mexted (New Zealand). Longtime servant of United States rugby, Joe Walsh, is a Director Emeritus of the Foundation.

All Trustees and Directors have distinguished rugby careers, and, collectively, have a broad background in business, law, and academia. While the current roster of Foundation Directors is notable, we continue to invite additional Directors to broaden our geographic coverage of the country.
