Student Athlete Exchange Programs

To assist in accelerating the development of the rugby skills of some of the country's most promising young rugby players, the United States Rugby Football Foundation is in the process of developing an exchange programs for scholar-athletes who are participating in rugby at their U.S. college or university with foreign universities who have strong rugby programs.

One such student-athlete college scholarship exchange program was initiated with the Royal College of Agriculture (RAC) in Cirencester, England and Iowa State Univeristy. The first exchange student, Glenn Youngs, a native of Zimbabwe, completed a year on the ISU campus in Ames. Glenn was a qualified rugby coach who greatly assisted and improved the rugby squad on the ISU campus. In the academic year 2002-2003, two members of the ISU squad were in England on exchange programs - one at the RAC and the other at Brunel University. The Foundation provided all three with financial assistance.

If you would like to be considered for the Exchange Program Grant or know of a student athlete who would be a candidate for the Foundation Student Exchange, please submit to the Foundation a profile of the student athlete.
